In 1989, Celfio Goni emigrated to the United States from Peru. After working in a number of different
restaurants, he decided to open one of his own. Inca Gourmet opened in May 1998 initially under the name
Diplomat. Diplomat offered daily lunch and dinner specials, like many restaurants, but it wasn't doing
well. So, in January 1999, Celfio tried another approach to how the restaurant would run. On
weekdays the restaurant would serve its usual a la carte and daily specials and then would offer a buffet
system only on the weekends. In a short time, the buffet became popular, and we made the change
permanent, offering a buffet every day. Once the change was implemented, we changed our name to Inca
Gourmet. Inca Gourmet is the first authentic Peruvian Buffet in the greater Los Angeles area. The same
chefs Placida and Celfio Goni have been cooking the best of Peruvian cuisine since its opening date.

Our daily buffet features more than thirty-five selections, all freshly-made and frequently replenished. Served all day weekdays for just $15.99, $17.99 on weekends and holidays. The weekday selections always include an assortment of salads, pasta, chicken, lamb, seafood, and several desserts.

The weekend and holiday buffets have even more choices, featuring hard-to-find items. There are daily selections of Chifa, the Peruvian-style Chinese food popular in Lima.

Inca Gourmet Restaurant is in the South Bay, near the intersection of Hawthorne Blvd and Manhattan Beach Blvd. We're just a few blocks from the San Diego freeway (405), with a large parking lot so you will never be far from our door.
